Bloom and Peat Products Private Limited
was established in the year 1994 with a view to produce Coir pith (Coco-peat) a substitute for Peat moss.

The Company identified the future potential for Coir pith in the world market and started to make 10 kg bales in the year 1995 and started to export to Netherlands market

By 1996, the Company came across the idea of making grow bags and perfected the technique of grow bag making. The company had initial customer at France, which later expanded to Switzerland and Spain.

Since Coir pith has a unique granular structure with high water holding capacity, it has been found to be more useful than peat moss and rock wool. Within two years of its introductions in the French market it almost took over 50% share of Rock wool grow bag market in France. Green house farmers found it difficult and expensive to dispose off the used Rock wool grow bags, as it is not biodegradable. Since Coir pith is Biodegradable it is used in crop fields to improve the soil texture.

For several years, Peat moss has been used as a horticultural product, now without loosing its patented qualities, Bloom & Peat has developed grow bag technology. Our grow bag technology using Coir pith is appreciated well by the farmers as they are able to get higher yields compared to grow bags made out of Rock wood or peat moss. The main advantage is because of the granular nature of Coir pith, more aeration for the roots of plants, better drainage and easy release of applied nutrition to the plants by Coir pith.
The Company can produce grow bags as per Customer requirement which is appreciated by the Green house farmers in Europe.

Tomato yields of 50 kg per square ft. of green house area has been achieved in Green houses at France and Switzerland using our grow bags. Similarly cucumber, pepper and other vegetable crops are grown in Grow bags with Coir pith.

The Company produces Coir pith in a refined manner and pure granular material is used for compression. The company adopts in house drying of Coir pith under strict supervision to avoid contamination of foreign matter, seeds etc into Coir pith.

Presently the Company produces 20 tones of dry Coir pith (11,000 cubic ft.) per day for export. Our present annual production is 6000 tones of dry Coir pith (3.3 million cubic ft.).

The Company adopts strict quality control to meet international standards. Production is mainly in the form of Grow bags and produces 2 million grow bags and the remaining quantity is in the form of Briquettes, Bales and discs.

New products are being developed in its Research and Development Department and the products are sent to customers for experimental purposes.
Company also engages in consulting to various plantation companies in and outside India.
